BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Map sheet 2025 is delim ited by latitudes 20°S and 21°S , and longitudes 25°E and 26°E.mHighway A3 runs east-west across the northern side of the map sheet, north of theNtwetwe Pan. Several small villages and settlements are connected by the highway and several dirt tracks along the northern and southern sides of Ntwetwe Pan. The Sowa Pan and Nata Bird Sanctuary occur along the eastern side of the sheet.
The geophysical data within the sheet consists primarily of several regional airborne magnetic datasets merged and interpolated to a 50 m grid. Regional gravity data interpolated to a 2.5 km grid were also used.
GEOLOGY
The pre-Kalahari geology consists almost entirely of Karoo Supergroup sedimentary and volcanic rock cover. In the northwest corner, the Karoo is underlain by granitic basement rocks which have been outlined from aeromagnetic data. Other basement rocks are the Kubu Island Granite which is ex posed in the southeast of the map sheet. The bedrock geology has been intruded by a significant number of southeast trending dolerite dykes.
