The northeast of the Tsetsebjwe area is underlain by Mesozoic sediments and lavas of the Karoo Tuli Basin. These rest unconformably on the Archaean basement complex of the Limpopo Mobile belt which occupies the remainder of the area. There are also numerous doleritic dykes and sills in the area and mior superficial cover.
