Abstraction of water from Northern Wellfield was achieved by pumping from twenty-eight production boreholes, including two stand -by boreholes (Figure 1). The total abstraction for the monitoring period amounted to 9 349 527 m3, representing a slight increase of 215 322 m3 or 2.36 % from the previous reporting period (1st January 2001 - 31St December 2001) figure of 9 134 206 m3 (Table 1).
