
Abstraction for the period July to December, 1991 amounted to 3 628 309 Tn3 with a progressive figure of 51 722 501 m3 since pumping commenced in December 1979 (see Figure 2). The period abstraction of 3 628 309 m represents a decrease of 256 406 m3 (6.6%) from the previous reporting period and a decrease of 1 292 244 m3 (26.3%) from the similar period in 1990. The decreased abstraction amounts can be attributed to greater recycling efficiency by treatment and production teams, settling in of the recrush facility and by the cooler weather from July to mid -November which prevented high evaporation rates.
