The geophysical interpretations, geological drilling results as well as the interpreted regional deep geology and inferred mineral commodity potential described in this report are derived from a programme of groundtruth drilling carried out in the Kalahari region of western and northern Botswana during 1981 and 1982. As a follow-up to the geophysical interpretation of the subsurface geology derived from the Reconnaissance Aeromagnetic Survey of Botswana the drilling programme was to test the geological nature of certain magnetic anomalies and trends and thus establish a geological validity for the drill-tested features and concomitantly to provide a predictive inference for similar untested geophysical features, in order to provide a reasoned interpretation of the regional geological framework.
